But what is the Blackberry Playbook? Simple: Tablet. The Blackberry Playbook is RIM's answer to Apple's iPad 2 and Samsung's Galaxy Tab (totally reminded me of the Palm acquisition by HP). It sports a dual-core Arm Cortext A9 1 GHz processor, a lighter weight, and its own Blackberry Tablet OS.
The Blackberry Playbook features an ultra-portable design and delivers industry leading performance, uncompromised web browsing with support for Adobe® Flash®, true multitasking, HD multimedia, advanced security features, out-of-the-box enterprise support and a robust development environment.

Anyway, RIM has officially stated that it will expand its application ecosystem for the Blackberry PlayBook to include BlackBerry Java and Android-based applications. In a press release, RIM states that developers simply repackage, code sign, and submit their Android apps into BlackBerry App World. For now, the PlayBook will only support Android 2.3 apps.
RIM has also stated that the compatibility with Android applications will be included in a software update of the BlackBerry Tablet OS.
Sadly, the Blackberry Playbook pre-order period by Globe has already ended. But like I said, it's going to hit here in just a couple of days.
