SPOILERS: WWE SmackDown Taping Results for This Week (1/18)

-Wade Barrett, Ezekiel Jackson, Heath Slater, and Justin Gabriel come to the ring to open the show. They are now referring to themselves as The Core. SmackDown General Manager Teddy Long then comes out. Long says that he is in charge of SmackDown, then begins talking down the Anonymous RAW General Manager. Long is then interrupted byAlberto Del Rio, who says that SmackDown is his show, and again says that his destiny is to win the Royal Rumble Match.

-Alberto Del Rio defeated R-Truth. During the match, Teddy Long was shown laid out backstage and being checked on by numerous individuals. Long is then placed on a stretcher and into an ambulance.

-Beth Phoenix defeated Layla

-Rey Mysterio is shown backstage walking around

-Dolph Ziggler and Vickie Guerrero are then shown backstage with The Core. The group says that they had nothing to do with the attack on Teddy Long, then offer to help out on the show. Vickie says that she wants them to take out World Heavyweight Champion Edge.

-Rey Mysterio defeated "Dashing" Cody Rhodes

-Josh Mathews is shown backstage talking about the attack on Teddy Long before he is interrupted by Alex Riley and WWE Champion The Miz.

-WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross makes a surprise appearance and comes out to a standing ovation. He speaks to the crowd, but is interrupted by Jack Swagger, who rips into J.R. and Oklahoma.

-Jack Swagger defeated WWE Intercontinental Champion Kofi Kingston in a non-title amateur wrestling match. A brawl ensues after the match, but Kingston kicks Swagger in the head to end it.

-Drew McIntyre defeated Trent Barreta. After the match, McIntyre extended his hand for Barreta to shake, but Barreta declined it. McIntyre then attacks him. Kelly Kelly comes out to check on Barreta, which enrages McIntyre.

-WWE Champion The Miz comes to the ring, accompanied by Alex Riley. Miz talks about beating up Randy Orton on this week's edition of RAW before he is interrupted by World Heavyweight Champion Edge. The two cut promos about one another before Edge spears Riley off of the ring apron. Edge and Miz then engage in a staredown.

-In the main event, Justin Gabriel defeated World Heavyweight Champion Edge in a non-title match following interference from The Core member Ezekiel Jackson, who clotheslined Edge and allowed Gabriel to get the win. All members of The Core then got involved after the match, attacking Edge. Dolph Ziggler, who was on commentary, comes into the ring to attack Edge, but is stopped by Kofi Kingston to end the show.
