Portal 2 Soundtrack Free Download

Good news for Portal and Portal 2 fans and lovers. The official Portal 2 soundtrack has been released for free download at the official Portal 2 site thinkwithportals.com.

The title of the Portal 2 soundtrack if I'm not mistaken is Songs To Test By. It was just upped a couple of hours ago and fans are loving it - partly because it's free and partly because Valve is awesome simply by doing this, not to mention that they were awesome before they even released the Portal 2 Soundtrack.

The songs in Songs To Test By, some say, are similar to the background music while playing the game. Some say it's weird to listen to while half-asleep, while most agree with the tracks just being - and this keyword I emphasize - awesome.

This is the simplest download you'll be able to experience all day. No waiting time, no sign-ups, no registrations, no nothing. Just click and download. It's that simple. It's that because Valve is simply awesome. Continue on below for the official Portal 2 Soundtrack free download links:

Official Portal 2 Soundtrack Free Download

Download Portal 2 Soundtrack - Songs To Test By

And as if that wasn't enough, Valve decided to throw away free Portal 2 ringtones too, both for iPhones and Androids! Check it out.

Official Portal 2 Ringtones Free Download

1. Turret Wife Serenade

2. Science Is Fun

3. The Friendly Faith Plate

4. The Courtesy Call
5. I Saw a Deer Today

6. Comedy Equals Tragedy Plus Time

But wait, that's not all. Apparently, this is just the 1st of 3 free volumes that Valve has put up for Portal 2. In short, we'll be given more free goodies in a couple of weeks time. But let me tell you, there's a running joke that Valve is afraid of 3's and that the 3rd volume would never materialize. Either it would or not, what matters right now is Valve's awesomeness.

If you've never played Portal 2 yet or would simply like to support the developers, click HERE.

Best thing I found all day hands down. Thanks to Valve and all that needs thanking for the free Portal 2 Soundtrack and ringtone downloads.

Cardiology - Good Charlotte

I'm a huge fan of Good Charlotte, no denying that. I've been listening to them since my high school days. They're also one of my biggest music inspirations. So it was a total surprise to me not to know that Good Charlotte's latest album, titled "Cardiology" has been released way back in mid-2010. I've known of this album since 2008 because I was looking for their follow-up of "Good Morning Revival." Last time I read in Wikipedia it was going to be released in Nov 2009 but it never came. I should've checked back.

I grabbed Cardiology off iTunes a few hours ago and I must say it's been a while since I listened to pop-rock. I found most of the songs decent, especially the songs Last Night and Let the Music Play. I should've bought this earlier. As I'm writing this I'm listening to their album. The lyrics might suck, but the sounds are definitely good.

Anyway, here's Good Charlotte in their official music video Last Night:

The video's freaking fugly and is totally out of theme with the song, but what the heck. Anyway, I think that guy in the suit was the host of a defunct sweet foods show. Can't remember. The music video itself is a parody of the Nickelodeon hit "Double Dare" and "Double Dare 2000" in my opinion. Used to watch it a lot when I was still a kid. But it doesn't matter. The song's pretty decent eh?

All that aside, I feel like crap for not knowing of Good Charlotte's Cardiology album release sooner. At least I have it now.

'Till my next installment.

Rendezvous – More Than Just Your Average Ear Candy

When I first listened to Rendezvous’ music online, I instantly recognized this was no ordinary music, and definitely more than the usual pop music that people so often listen to but later forget. Rendezvous was more than that.

Rendezvous is a self-labeled electropop band, but it’s a little more than that. Yes, there is fresh and tasteful electronica in their instrumental music, but there is jazz too, and I daresay, even hints of impressionist classical music! There is something about Rendezvous music that gives not only a treat for the ears but for the mind and the soul as well. Every time I listen to any of the band’s three available online tracks - No Man’s Land, So What and Incognito, I feel relaxed by the soft strains and yet energized by the upbeat notes. My nerves feel calmer, yet my mind is alert. Listening to Rendezvous is like having a music spa!

The one-of-a-kind music they compose can be traced to their roots and passion for music. Both band members, Itai Simon and Hagai Izenberg, have been music lovers since childhood. Izenberg started playing the organ at four years old. He later played keyboards and experimented with vintage analog synthesizers.  Simon, meanwhile, started his love affair with the guitar at ten years old. While at first he played electric guitar he found his “true love” – as he calls it – seven years later with the bass guitar.

When the two met while studying music at Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary Music, they hit it off and started playing together. Most of their sessions were just for fun, until they uploaded one on the net, gradually making them known and popular among online music listeners. And the rest, they say, is history.

This year, they are releasing their debut album mainly because of the clamor from fans – eight fresh, original tracks, with intriguing visuals from filmmaker Uzi Adam. And the album is now being mixed by David Bascombe – yes, the legend who also mixed for Depeche Mode, Tears for Fears and Suede.

For now, while waiting for their album, I am listening to their music I downloaded for free at their official site. Check out the music for yourself – you can also listen to the tracks through streaming in the site. You can also catch videos of their studio sessions at Rendezvous’ official YouTube channel.
Listen and hear for yourself what makes Rendezvous different!

Sing - My Chemical Romance

I watched My Chemical Romance performing on Conan O'Brien late night a couple of days ago. Basically this post is the result of MCR reminding themselves to me. For those who didn't know yet, My Chemical Romance released a music video of their song titled "Sing" from their latest album Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys. Watch it below:

I just want to share this song because it really sounds nice. "Sing" is far off when compared to previous MCR albums but it does sound catchy and it perfectly matches the theme of the video (it doesn't lose its darkness though). It would be a perfect song for a Final Fantasy AMV or whatever.

Digressing, I find it somewhat funny and ironic at the same time that the "emo" population is now scarce. The Black Parade and a couple of years ago, you'll see emo and emo-wannabes littering the streets. Now though only those who are truly emo are left. I've nothing against emos but total respect because in a sense I'm a brother of theirs in rock. Oh yes, emo, death metal, glam, pop, country, nu, alternative, speed metal, Christian, whatever. I listen to anything rock. If anything, I appreciate the guitars and the music.

Support My Chemical Romance and all artists for that matter. Get their album legitimately.

DJ Earworm - Like OMG, Baby

Attention: People that are allergic to Justin Bieber should proceed with caution. If sudden irritation occurs, seek the help of a professional psychiatrist. May be fatal if left untreated.

As with every routine Saturday evening of mine, I was surfing the net for new stuff. Man, people learn something new everyday. The web is such a powerhouse of data. Such a powerhouse in fact that I stumbled upon a djearworm.com website.

As it happens, this DJ Earworm is a DJ that does mashups of famous music artists' songs, complete with music videos. I played the latest entry on his blog titled "Like OMG, Baby" and damn does it sound good. Check out the YouTube video below:

It's a mashup of all the music artists that performed on the Wembley Stadium and was on 95.8 Capital FM (not available in Philippine territories). Here's the complete list of all the videos used and their respective singers:
* Alexandra Burke - All Night Long
* Cheryl Cole - Fight For This Love
* Chipmunk feat. Esmee Denters - Until You Were Gone
* Dizzee Rascal - Bonkers
* Ellie Goulding - Starry Eyed
* Jason Derulo - In My Head
* JLS - One Shot
* Justin Bieber - Baby
* Ke$ha - Tik Tok
* Pixie Lott - Mama Do
* Rihanna - Rude Boy
* Scouting For Girls - This Ain’t a Love Song
* Tinie Tempah - Pass Out
* Usher feat. Will.I.Am - OMG
* The Wanted - All Time Low

Nice find eh? You can browse DJ Earworm's blog if you like to discover more nice finds. This piece is enough for me though. Gets me to jig.

Watch My Chemical Romance's Danger days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys "Na Na Na" Official Music Video

My Chemical Romance (MCR) goes back with a bang with their latest single "Na Na Na" from their newest album Danger days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys to be released on November 22, 2010. Watch the "Na Na Na" Official Music Video below:

There's lots of fun to be had while watching the "Na Na Na" video:
1. Midway at the video, you can see a skeleton lying in the sand wearing the Black Parade costume worn by MCR in their songs The Black Parade and Famous Last Words. It might imply the death of the band's old musical style and the birth of a new one;

2. The video has a strong resemblance to the Power Rangers series due to the band member's color coded costumes, plus the fact that the video uses masked goons and a bald boss which is altogether commonly seen at Sentai-themed shows. It also has some similarities with Mad Max and Muse's Knights of Cydonia;

3. Gerard Way's hair is colored pink as to his original black hair (when he was still emo j/k);

4. The Vend-a-Hack device shown in the video could be traced back to the PC games Bioshock and Bioshock 2;

5. You can find two lions mating in the video if you look fast enough;

6. The "Gimme drugs" phrase is replaced by "Gimme bli" in the music video;

7. The band members' names are uniquely funny in their own right: Party Poison (also the title of a song in the album), Jet Star, Fun Ghoul, and Kobra Kid. Drummer Bob Bryar couldn't be seen on the video for he already left the band. Too bad.

I find this new music of My Chemical Romance to be very lively and catchy. Most reviewers gave it positive reviews and from the looks of it the Danger days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys album launch is going to be a bang. Most commentators on YouTube also gave positive comments about the single and its addictiveness. Of course, you can't remove the people that misses the band's old musical style.

Again,  My Chemical Romance's Danger days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys is due on November 22, 2010.

'Till my next installment.

You’re so cheap and this isn’t like you
I can’t get used to it now, It makes me dizzy, why
Who’s breaking up with who
You’re breaking up with me
Think it over before you say it, yeah

A guy that used to follow me around, a very decent guy
I let everything go for you alone
Who’s breaking up with who
Go Away lyrics on
You’re breaking up with me
Try living without me, yeah

Tonight of all times, why is it raining again
It makes me look so pitiful
Don’t try to console me
Move this hand, we’re strangers now

Don’t worry about me and go away
I’ll disappear, no strings attached
You thought I’d hang onto you
It’s disgusting, don’t misunderstand

I’ll meet someone so much better
I’ll make you regret it all
Sadness is only for now, boy
Cause love is over
Love, love is over tonight

Just say what you gotta say
How can you be uncool to the very end?
Fiancé? Beyonce
I’m walkin’ out of destiny
Not pitifully alone, but a glamorous solo
That’s my way
I gave it my all, so I don’t have regrets

Pretending like you’re more sad
Pretending you’re cool to the end
All you do is act a fool
You ain’t shi.t without your crew
I don’t have time, I gotta go
So long, good bye, adios
I don’t want to see your ugly face again no more

Tonight of all times, why is it raining again
It makes me look so pitiful
Don’t try to console me
Move this hand, we’re strangers now

Don’t worry about me and go away
I’ll disappear, no strings attached
You thought I’d hang onto you
It’s disgusting, don’t misunderstand

I’ll meet someone so much better
I’ll make you regret it all

Sadness is only for now, boy
Cause love is over
Love, love is over tonight

Go go away
Go away
Go away
Go away

Don’t worry about me and go away
I’ll disappear, no strings attached
You thought I’d hang onto you

BET's Top 10 Rappers of the 21st Century

Recently, the Black Entertainment Television channel released their Top 10 Rappers of the 21st Century. So here it is. Lookie who made it on the list:

10. Rick Ross
9. Jadakiss
8. Young Jeezy
7. Drake
6. Ludacris
5. T.I.
4. 50 Cent
3. Kanye West
2. Lil' Wayne

And our number one rapper for the 21st century (which shouldn't come as a surprise to everyone since he'd been a billboard chart topper ever since he came out):

1. Eminem

Some are saying that BET set the limit at 1999 just to include Eminem on the list. If it weren't I guess MC Hammer would've made it somewhere high on the list. Then again, Eminem deserves the top dog position because he earned it. And because he's not afraid.

Also, look at Kanye. Everybody hated him for what he did to Taylor Swift at the past MTV Music Awards (including me. How could you do that to such a gorgeous angel?). Now he's back again on full swing and he's at number three. Not a fan of the constant autotuning though. Wait, is there anything not autotuned anymore?

Another one: I'm no fan of Lil' Wayne. I know he got great music and all, but I can't stop associating him with Jay Sean and that sparkly "baby are you down down down down down" video. I don't know why. Maybe it's because of the the glasses.

Besides #1, #3, T.I. (you could have whatever you like yeaaaaah) and Luda, I don't mind the others. I do pay respect though. They won't be on the top if they didn't earn their way up.

'Till my next installment.

P.S. I agree with them web people. Why ain't Jay-Z ain't nowhere to be no-seen on this list?

Avenged Sevenfold's latest album Nightmare in stores now

If you've been following the series of videos of Avenged Sevenfold (aka A7X), you would have noticed that today's the release of their latest album, Nightmare.

So to kick off the A7X calendar, last week Machinima.com decided to do A7X's hit single Welcome to the Family from the album Nightmare and combine it with the latest never before seen cut of footage from Activision's upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops. The outcome: fantabulous. Couldn't have said it better myself. View the video below:

Band: Avenged Sevenfold
Album: Nightmare
Song: Welcome to the Family
Release date: 07/27/10
Genre: Rock
Directed by: Machinima.com

Classic A7X. Very MIA-ish. Anyway, in totality of the album, I'll say they could've done better. A song from Nightmare (I won't name it. Guess it) sounds like it was ripped from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and then added a different chorus. Or maybe that's just me. Fact of the matter is, Nightmare is great. I'll purchase it when I have the time. Avid fan right here.

'Till my next installment.
