The iReadyGo RG

Everybody's excited with the upcoming release of the Sony NGP. I'm excited about it, fanboys are excited about it, heck, a Chinese manufacturer was so excited in fact that they made something that looks like a cross of the NGP and the Xbox 360. Folks, meet the iReadyGo RG.

The iReadyGo RG first surfaced on the Chinese CnGBA forums. Like the NGP on Sony's showcase event a few months ago, the iReadyGo RG seems to have dual nubs. The directional buttons and control buttons were obviously inspired by the Xbox 360's controller although the latter seems to follow Sony's square triangle circle cross format.

The iReadyGo RG reportedly will run on some version of the Android. If this was true it would be very welcome since the "possibilities would be endless." It reportedly would also support WiFi, 3G, GPS and other extras. The screen is said to be a capacitive 800×480 OLED 5in wide. The iReadyGo RG's CPU power, a 1GHz Cortex-A8 CPU. Lastly, it would have a 720p camera, HDMI-out, video playback compatibility for MP4, WMV, AVI, and many more.

The manufacturer of the iReadyGo RG allegedly asked six senior Android devs to help with the handheld's system.

Anyway, if this thing hits local shores, I probably would buy one for the sake of curiosity. And if it proves to be good, I could definitely say that finally the Chinese has produced something powerful. Not just some cheap-ass MP4 players and iPhone bootlegs.

'Till my next installment.
