Watch Azkals vs Kuwait 2nd Leg Live Streaming Online July 28, 2011

Philippine Team Azkals is facing their toughest opponent yet in Kuwait at the Rizal Memorial Stadium today at July 28, 2011.

The Azkals vs Kuwait 2nd Leg game will start at 5:30pm and will be aired live at Studio 23 and the Balls Channel. The Philippine Team Azkals need to score quite a lot of points today, 4 points to be exact, to be able to advance to the next round.

The Philippines slipped from 159 to 162 in the latest FIFA World Rankings released Wednesday but an upset victory of the Azkals over Al Azraq Thursday night will definitely raise their stock.

Kuwait, on the other hand, climbed from 102nd to 95th after its first leg victory last Saturday in its home turf.

As it is rainy today, the ground in Rizal Memorial Stadium is very slippery, but in an interview a day ago the Azkals told reporters that they like rain and that it is advantageous to them. Hopefully the game won't be stopped by referees.

Watch Team Azkals VS Kuwait 2nd Game Live Sky Cable HD

Like Manny Pacquiao who in recent years has ushered in the golden age of Philippine boxing, the Philippine Azkals have also elevated the game of soccer in the national consciousness to unprecedented levels.

The celebrity aura of some its members, particularly the Younghusband brothers, has catapulted the game to an all-time high – and the Philippines is all the better for it.

As it continues to dazzle the audience and capture the nation’s imagination, the Azkals are again embarking on a monumental journey to take on perhaps its toughest assignment yet – the Kuwait national squad.

The highly anticipated match slated on July 28 against the Middle East powerhouse team will once again be played in home court in front of an adoring Filipino crowd at the Rizal Memorial Stadium, While both teams are expected to play their hearts out, Filipinos are again banking on the same grit and skills which the Azkals have displayed in scuttling its previous rivals and in sending the popularity of soccer to the stratosphere.

Like Pacquio’s history-making feats, Filipinos are not about to miss this once-in-a-lifetime match. This early, tickets to the most exciting and action-packed event this side of town is already sold out and securing a seat at the stadium is like looking for a needle in a haystack.

So if you can’t be physically be there at the heart of the action, then there’s no better way to witness this than in full HD via SkyCable HD.

Filipinos, who are now officially fans of the world’s most-played ball game, can view the match as if they are in the stands – through Balls HD which will air the game exclusively on Channel 167 in SkyCable HD.

With SkyCable HD, viewers are brought so close to the football action that can almost feel and touch what they are watching. It’s absolutely worlds away from ordinary SD (standard definition) which can hardly show of the trajectory of the soccer ball as it travels to the back of the net. With HD, it's like watching the game LIVE.

Owners of HD-enabled TV sets with SkyCable subscription are in the best position to take advantage of this opportunity as they can easily upgrade to watch the game in HD.

Thus, the upcoming Azkals game – with national pride at stake -- presents the biggest reasons yet for sports fanatics to take the jump to HD. Viewing and experiencing the game with HD is far more exciting compared to SD and definitely worth the upgrade.

UAAP Season 74 Basketball Standings (Upd. 09/03/11)

It's time again for university giants to duke out in UAAP Season 74. The UAAP Men's Basketball segment of the tourney will be aired at ABS-CBN and Studio 23 (Ch17 Global Destiny). It will also be covered live at DZRJ radio.

If you can recall, Ateneo's Blue Eagles was last year's UAAP Season 73 Basketball Champions. It was a close fight between FEU and ADMU, but I was hoping for the former to win. Fortunately I didn't fork out any cash on bets made or else. The tourney will be hosted by Ateneo de Manila University.

Anyway, check the UAAP Season 74 Men's Basketball Team Standings at the section below:

Support the Philippine Dragon Boat Team

Update: Support the Philippine Dragon Boat Team to the Tampa Bay, Florida World Championships! Visit their Facebook Page

Recently in the news we've heard the unfortunate state the Philippine Dragon Boat Team is currently in. Unlike the Philippine Football Team Azkals, our Dragon Boat racers lack financial support from the government, they aren't as discussed by the Filipinos or as covered by the media.

They were covered by ABS-CBN last June 21, 2011—to check up on the team's progress I guess—and it was just then that I found out that they barely had enough money to cover their expenses at the last Sydney World Championships event, even going as far as sleeping in an Australian cemetery just to make both ends meet. I also saw them diving for mussels at the heavily polluted Manila Bay just to have something to eat.

PH Dragon Boat Team's most recent championship medals

This is some sorry situation these winners are going through. If I was a member of the Philippine Dragon Boat Team experiencing snubs from the government for funding, I'd be all like "Why are we being treated like this? We've brought home the gold twice and yet we're still being ignored like we're nobodies." I say, no winner should undergo this kind of physical, mental and emotional torture.

I call on Philippine President Benigno Aquino III and VP Jejomar Binay to pay some mind and financial support to the Philippine Dragon Boat Team. These guys aren't just one of the top in Asia, they're one of the best in the world in their sport. If the government doesn't do something these people may disband due to the financial incapacity, effectively limping the Philippines of another fame-bringing world title.

They should also be paid national and local government recognition like Manny Pacquiao, Efren Reyes, Django Bustamante and the others. The Philippine Dragon Boat Team is an established and proven team of winners. Don't ignore them. Pay them their dues.

If you are a private person or a huge manufacturing entity with something to spare, go to their contact form by clicking HERE. Talk to them, give them support, and in turn they might advertise your brand in their jerseys. Don't let their dreams die.

Mayweather Comments Racist Remarks Against Pacquiao

Yesterday, around 1:30 AM, Floyd Mayweather Jr was flaunting his riches to the world in his UStream account. Meanwhile, a viewer was bombarding Mayweather with "When will you fight Pacquiao?" questions and comments. Finally, an irritated Mayweather gave in, and the video below was what ensued:

I'm an advocate against racism, and I make it a huge deal not to offend anyone with racist remarks, let alone mention them myself. And with this video I can say that Malcolm X would totally be disappointed with Floyd Mayweather Jr's actions. Not only did Mayweather show how much of an insecure jerk he is, he also showed that Manny Pacquiao was a man of higher class than him. Why? Because when reached for comment, Pacquiao said that he's not interested in the video and says that the video is "an uneducated message." Well, it surely is. The video that Mayweather taped is full of hate, animosity, and racism. He called Pacquiao "Poochiao",  a yellow midget, a whore, and accused him of using performance-enhancing drugs, an accusation that his father Floyd Mayweather Sr had never proven. Uhuh. A midget. Right. Considering that Mayweather's only  couple of centimeters taller than Pacquiao. I guess that makes him a taller midget.

During the video, Mayweather also went on a rant about Pacquiao's record, even though Pacquiao has not lost a fight since 2005, and made incorrect comments about the money each had received for recent fights and endorsements. Lifted transcript below:

" 'Poochiao' got three losses and two draws and been knocked out twice," Mayweather said. "So, like I said before, once I beat him it's going to be a cakewalk and it's on to the next. ... We know Pacquiao made $6 million in his last fight and Floyd Mayweather made $65 million in his last fight. Three losses, two draws. Ohhh, hell no, this is America baby. We built on winning. Step your game up, f----t. ... That mother f----- Pacquiao, he can't speak no English. He never seen a contract he didn't like. Mother f----- signed with two companies [Top Rank and Golden Boy]. Look it up. And then this mother f------ with Nike only got 70 Gs. How stupid can a mother f----- be? Reebok gave me a million dollars for three weeks. I wore Reebok s--- for a week for a million dollars. ... This mother f------'s name is Emmanuel. He got a fake name, taking power pellets."

To be honest, Floyd's just playing hit and run. He runs away from Pacquiao and hits him with trash while he's out promoting his fight with Margarito. What's bad is, Mayweather nut huggers actually supported the trash talk. It's like promoting racism. It's like if you say something against an African American you're racist but when an African American expressly says racist remarks against you it's fine. You see how double standards come into play here?

If I was in the same class level as Mayweather, I'd trashtalk with him until blue hell surfaces.

Even anti-racist African-American, Mayweather's own blood, are condemning him of his actions. Some said that they're African-Americans and they can't wait to see Pacquiao break Mayweather's nose. This is proof that anti-racism knows no bounds, that we have sensible brothers and sisters that pay respect to people as much as they want to be paid respect. I'm with those brothers and sisters that want the hate to stop.

Anyway, I hope Mayweather's sponsors pay great attention to this video. I hope they back out of all sponsorship deals they made with this racist just like when sponsors backed out in Tiger Woods' mistresses affairs.

Hey Floyd, if it happens that you're personally reading this, I suggest you do less talk and more work. Stand up from your pretentious couch and fight Pacquiao. Prove to me that you ain't chicken. Prove to me that you're more than just trashtalk and accusations.

ESPN called Mayweather a coward, adviser denies any talks

Floyd Mayweather is a coward. The video below pretty much sums it up:

And now, Mayweather's camp is saying that there were never any negotiations that took place for a Nov. 13 fight. A close Mayweather adviser, Leonard Ellerbe says:
"Here are the facts," Ellerbe said in Monday's statement. "Al Haymon, [Golden Boy Promotions CEO] Richard Schaefer and myself speak to each other on a regular basis, and the truth is no negotiations have ever taken place, nor was there ever a deal agreed upon by Team Mayweather or Floyd Mayweather to fight Manny Pacquiao on Nov. 13. Either Ross Greenburg or Bob Arum is not telling the truth, but history tells us who is lying."
Yes, history tells us who is lying. History tells us the people who accused Manny Pacquiao of using steroids are lying. History tells us that Mayweather and company are just all form and no substance. Here's what Mayweather has to say about his fight with Pacquiao:
"I'm not interested in rushing to do anything. I'm not really thinking about boxing right now. I'm just relaxing. I fought about 60 days ago, so I'm just enjoying myself, enjoying life, enjoying my family and enjoying my vacation."
Oh come on. You don't think about boxing, really? Let's list this down:

1. Mayweather Sr. accused Pacquiao of using steroids and the PBF wagon rode it. Mayweather's camp even got sued for spreading this false truth;
2. We heard a few months ago that Floyd Mayweather was to retire AGAIN from boxing for two years;
3. Manny agrees to everything Mayweather wants up to a 14-day window before the fight and a urine test right after their fight;
4. Now he's saying that he just fought 2 months ago and that he wants to relax? The fight's supposed to be in November. That's more or less 3 months from now. Don't you have enough time to relax?

And as mentioned above, Leonard Ellerbe denied any negotiations with Top Rank, right? Here's what Bob Arum said about the denial:
"If there is no negotiation, who imposed the gag order? Why they're doing this is absurd. What is motivating them to put something like this out? I'm not going to speculate but what are they doing? Schaefer said there was a gag order. Who could there be a gag order from if there were no negotiations? From the sky?

What they said was absurd, but why did they say this? They could say a lot of other things. My feeling is that this is rapidly becoming one of the most bizarre things ever."
Yeah, where would a gag order come from? From the sky?

Hey look, even if there wasn't any negotiation, the PBF camp could've immediately denied it on the day or after the day Bob Arum gave Floyd the deadline for the Nov.13 fight. But no. Instead they chose to wait for the deadline to expire and that's when they denied any talks at all. Pardon the word but this is absofuckinglutely bullshit.

Word is, Mayweather is afraid to have is undefeated streak stained. He's afraid that he's gonna lose the last fight of his career. He doesn't want a 40-1-0 on his record, that 1 being a loss to Manny Pacquiao.

Bottomline: Mayweather is a coward. What a shame. Hey, even Oscar dela Hoya, who many consider is queer, fought valiantly against Manny Pacquiao. I wonder what's keeping his boy from fighting valiantly too. Oh right, he's a coward.

'Till my next installment.
