Shame on Nonito Donaire for Dissing His Family

Yesterday I was reading a Yahoo! News article about Nonito Donaire Jr shaming his family and lying about his growing up life. I was at the same time so furious and disappointed at this guy that I lost all the respect I had for him.

So here's how the story goes: Nonito Donaire Jr accused his father of stealing $240.00 from him, accused his brother of being the family favorite, and told everyone that his family were very poor from the getgo and they had nothing to eat when he was growing up, and that he was always received a beating from his father. Apparently those were all lies, as told by his mother.

Mama Donaire told PEP.ph that the $240.00 "stolen" by Nonito's father was actually used to feed the boxing training crew when Nonito's name was still a no-ringer. Secondly, that Nonito Jr was the family favorite because he was a sickly and frail kid, that his brother supported him all the way to become what he is today.

His father beating him was also a lie. One theory on why Nonito Jr said this is because his father dragged him to do boxing because it was what Nonito Jr wanted because his brother was also a boxer.

The final lie was debunked when his mother told PEP.ph that although they were not rich, there were always meals at the table and that they were eating three times a day. Mama Donaire said that his son is trying so hard to be like Manny Pacquiao, who as we know genuinely came from rags to riches.

Nonito Donaire Jr apparently started his drastic villainous change when he got wed with his current wife.

Now, what's $240.00 when you owe your life to your parents? That's like just P10,000.00 plus. Your parents never complained to you that they were spending a lot on your milk, your clothes, your food, your school supplies, your education, your daily allowance. Now you dare call your father a thief because he used $240.00 to feed your boxing crew? Eff you dipshit. I'm sure your parents spent more than P10,000.00 on you while you were still in their wings.

You also accuse your brother of something he isn't? Man, your brother supported you on your way up. When it was his turn, you didn't help him. What an ingrate.

Also, stop lying. You look like a humongous jackass every time you do. If you can't, stop associating yourself with this country. We'd rather stick to Manny Pacquiao. We don't need a backstabbing family traitor carrying the Philippines' name on his shoulder. Don't even mention fighting for the Philippines' honor on your bout night with Montiel. You can't fight for your family's honor, how much more a family composed of 90 million people? Just tell to the world that you'll be fighting for yourself and for your Rachel. What's $240.00 with all your money now? Gag all your cash down your throat.

Lastly, stop riding the Manny Pacquiao bandwagon. You'll never be like him dipshit.

P.S. I have the right to speak like this to Nonito Donaire Jr because unlike him, I have the greatest love and respect in the world for my parents. Nothing could ever change that, even my wife to-be.

Opinions: About DepEd's K+12 program

Recently in the news, we've heard about the Department of Education's plan to add years in our grade school and high school curriculum. Well, adding years to the national education system is one way of looking at the DepEd's future plan to maintain our global competitiveness. Or, we could slash the least productive subjects.

Yes, slashing minor subjects to give more time to major subjects. Minor subjects like Music, Arts, Health, P.E., Araling Panlipunan or Sibika and what have you. That has been my gripe back since my first year college days. Why do these students need to study a couple of more years and spend more than their parents could earn if the higher ups in the government could just slash unproductive subjects that either have potatoes for teachers or garbage for books?

Take for example the subjects Music and Arts. Back then when I was in high school, I never applied the staff or the G-clef or the whole and half-notes in real-life, only in Music class. And to think that I learned all the music that I needed in my life all by myself. I'm excellent at playing the guitar and I manage to play passable piano. What about the Arts subject? Heck, I can't even remember any Arts from my secondary years! Not that I'm dumb. Its just that the subject is totally impractical and irrelevant in our society today.

Its true that people should still pay tribute to our nation's past. But we don't need all students to learn and know it. For what, high school quizzes that hardly matter at all when you start working at age 21? Hell, you don't need Lapu-Lapu or Marcelo del Pilar when taking a job exam. What you need are number abilities, English skills and analytical thinking. Studying Music or Arts or P.E. or Araling Panlipunan won't help you in those three departments.

How are we going to preserve our history then? Well, let's leave all the history that needs preserving to those who heed the calling - by that I mean the people who decide that they want to be historians or archivists as their jobs. It's simply like what happens to priests. No matter what priests achieve in life, when they are called by God, they become men of God. So, let people that are called by Philippine history be men of history.

Imagine if you slash those three subjects alone. You would save two to three hours of extra time, extra time that could be used for more English or more math or more contemporary science. Note that I used the word contemporary because more often than not, elementary and high school teachers are relying on obsolete books and obsolete information that dates back to the time of Archimedes. Also sometimes they teach the most basic of things, like what magma is or what red blood cells are. You'd pick up more information watching Discovery Channel than staying at school listening to obsolete science.

The problem is, everyone doesn't have cable service. So like I said, to make up for more time and more globally-related learning, slash subjects that would slow down a child's or a teenager's progress. Leave all the learning on those subjects to those who really wants to specialize on them. And let's call them musicians, artists, and Physical Instructors. Duh.

And why stop slashing subjects at the primaries and secondaries? We could slash lots of subjects off the tertiary level as well! The CHED could slash History 101 and Rizal (well, Rizal is by law required to be learned by students, so no Rizal slashing) and Filipino 101. Who needs to re-learn Emilio Aguinaldo considering you've been previously taught of it in elementary and high-school? Who needs to learn the Alibata or other defunct ways of writing when English and/or Jejenese is the global requirement?

That's why it's so slow learning your major in college. Take me for example. In my years up to my second year second semester in college, me and my batchmates only took one accounting subject per semester. Then when we became third year students, we got subject-shocked because we jumped from one accounting subject at a time to five accounting subjects at a time. If instead those subjects were injected slowly through our earlier years in college, we wouldn't have been subject-shocked. Hell, I could definitively say that we could've even performed better than we have if we knew our subjects earlier instead of dozing off on Humanities or Sociology. Who needs to learn those if you're in the Accounting Department? Its totally unrelated to your major so why bother listen to it? We would not be psychologists or sociologists or historians, we're accountants. It also applies to you. Would you like to learn paintings and all that dandy stuff if you're taking up Engineering or Nursing? Its a no-brainer.

See? The government need not add more years for students to learn. They could just, as I've mentioned in this post so many times, SLASH unproductive, irrelevant and globally-uncompetitive subjects off the curriculum! That way the government will save more and the parents would spend less!

So to President Noynoy Aquino and/or the DepEd head: If you're reading/you have read this, I suggest you consider my suggestions. Let's not be sentimental about the subjects that you and I both know are of no help to our future generation. Anyway Noy, you slashed the Head of PAGASA as easy as that even though he served loyally for 26 years. You could slash the uncompetitive subjects as easy as that as well. Please do consider. It would be a win-win situation for both the government and for parents and students alike.

It was a landslide victory for Noy Noy, but why?

I do not know for sure if the article itself had an impact on whether Senator Aquino won by a landslide.

What I do know is most of the Sorsogon Province was not planning on voting for Noy Noy since the national senatorial race in 2007. At the time a self-made billionaire was a better choice for local economic development, and Noy Noy had the reputation of a Manila Man, uncaring of the rest of the country especially the Bicol Region.

The last days of the campaign trail Senator Aquino sent his relatives to Gubat, Sorsogon Province Philippines to help campaign for the local mayor running for congressman in the second district, and Noy Noy campaigned in Sorsogon City down to Bulan, the most populated town in the second district that elected “Ding” Ramos.

I was told it was the town of Matnog voting heavily for Mayor Ramos that made the difference in the congressional race, but Mr. Aquino’s last minute commitment to the province was what convinced the Catholic Church in the Sorsogon Province that carried north to the entire Bicol Region and maybe the country that influenced native born Filipino Catholics that the son of an iconic woman president and a martyred father was sincere in helping his people instead of the perception he would only help Metro Manila and his “familya”.

The Bicol Region was on the verge of becoming an autonomous region because of the neglect of elected national senators only representing Metro Manila Development.

Senator Aquino including the poorest province in the Philippines during the last days of his campaign, I believe, is the reason he won by a landslide victory. The expectations on how it will affect the Bicol Region have started.

I even voted for him. I have a yellow wristband. I expect the free food once he can legally assume the command and the office of the President of the Republic of the Philippines. The growth economy is already happening. I expect him to continue it.

Congratulation, Noy Noy!

I was accused of not supporting Mar Roxas. I am only one vote. Think of another reason why Mar was leading in the polls until the last few weeks of polls taken. It was not because of me. My vote for vice-president was already expected to go to Loren Legarda since she announced because of her involvement with the United Nations’ participation in ending our poverty.

Blue must be Mar Roxas’ favorite color because it cost him the vice-presidency. The blue shirt did not even fade so it was not machine washed in hot water. Many Liberals probably voted for Jejomar Binay because Mar never wore the yellow shirt, especially in posters and on TV while standing next to Noy Noy.

Welcome to Pinewood Studios in the Philippines! Jejomar Binay, but you have to build it first. You can provide jobs in every city, medium city, towns that can support a local cable TV station because the indoor film studio location of your choosing can be rented to produce local TV shows, dramas, and movies to be shown locally and internationally on cable.

It will be up to the localities to start a local cable TV channel.

The rental (government revenue) will make it affordable for smaller operators throughout the 7107 islands to compete effectively. Young and old entrepreneur producers can rent the studio and the high technology in the indoor studio can produce tomorrow’s blockbuster movies for theaters in the new malls creating domestic venture capital, no need to outsource for capital if you build it and the domestic tourism income will be astronomical.

The young made a statement. It is good to know the young people care about my birth country.

If you need a name for a government-owned enclosed facility capable of filmed television, studio television recording, the filming of commercials, post production sound services, and film production all created indoors; how about “PINOYVILLE”, a village for pinoys?

Think of it as another PAGCOR development from the Office of the President. But don’t get ahead of yourself. That is six years away. Build the studio first. Maybe Noy Noy will help you using his office.
